Hand Made Bobbin Lace
We’re always on the job. Sure, maybe we’re taking a holiday vacation in sunny Puerto Rico, but that doesn’t mean we’re off the clock.
Today we visited a lace maker in the city of Moca. Ada Hernandez makes Mundillo, a form of bobbin lace that originated in Spain. I ordered a beautiful edging lace in a traditional pattern called Palomita (Little Dove). It should be finished and sent to us just when we’re ready to start new tops for Spring.
Here’s a picture of the Palomita.
And here’s a video on how the lace is made.
